About Us
Where Impact Meets Compassion, Lives Change
In 2002, Cheryl Johnson had been with a big box case management company for 12 years, challenged with managing an overload of files. Her vision was to make an impact through medical management the way that she knew case management could be done. The entrepreneur bug bit - JMS Consulting grew out of a desire to break away from the corporate case management model, so that we could be more responsive to carrier and employer needs. Many hours and much coffee later, we developed our own case management systems, forming JMS Consulting, LLC.
To be successful in the marketplace, we would have to differentiate ourselves. Fundamentals of JMS include extraordinary communications, resourcefulness to surpass barriers, passion and knowledge to achieve remarkable outcomes for our patient clients as well as our customers. As we added nurses and new territories, we also grew in knowledge of the workers compensation system, adjuster needs, employer concerns, application of evidence-based guidelines, and rapport with physician providers in medical communities.
Unlike national counterparts that obtain business from national contracts, our services offer customers a local, boutique option with excellent customer service, and that's how we've grown. Our customers are typically decision makers that don’t want the national brand, but opt for more input, communication, and closer control on the claims management of a file for improved outcomes.
We know the best medical treatment is the most cost effective in the long run. We firmly believe in getting injured workers to the best specialized providers to speed treatment and recovery. Everyone benefits when an injured worker gets appropriate treatment quickly - the injured worker, employer, and carrier. Quite simply, where impact meets compassion, lives change.
Today, JMS has grown its boutique style of case management to a regional footprint. Customers utilize our nurses to coordinate prompt treatment for injured workers, and continue to follow their progress to avoid complications.
